Volta Regional Police Commander DCOP Francis Ebenezer Doku has been removed from his post to come and serve as a director at the Police Headquarters in Accra.
His staff officer at the Regional Police Command, Maister Klay, has also been removed from the region to be in charge of the Gambaga District Police Command.
DCOP Doku’s removal from his current duties comes on the back of his recent pronouncement that the Police had identified weapons manufacturing base at Alavanyo but are unable to move in due to high level of defences.

His removal is immaterial to the statement attributed to him. The issue here is that, is the statement true or false? Has the Police Service conducted investigations to the statement? Do we have arms manufacturing base/bases in the region? As a higher police officer of his calibre, what motivated him to make that statement? Is the statement informed by intelligence on the ground? If the statement is true and per the action taken, are we not emboldening those engaged in the trade to do it more?
