Mr. Francis Oti Boateng, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asante Akim North, has appealed to the people of the area to team up with the security agencies to ward-off the activities of the nomadic herdsmen.
He said though the security agencies have worked hard to remove most of the herdsmen and their cattle from the district, there were still some of them in the villages and there is the need for information and support from community members to totally resolve the problem.
Mr. Boateng made the appeal during a parade at Agogo to mark the 62nd Independence Anniversary celebrations.
He said the district assembly has intensified efforts in constructing various development projects in education, health, water and sanitation facilities as well as created business and entrepreneurship opportunities for the people.
Mr. Boateng commended authorities of basic schools in the district for working hard to improve academic performance and education delivery.
Some of the basic schools which excelled in the recent Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) were presented with exercise books and other teaching and learning materials.

Please educate the herdsmen that there is a sanctuary at the Afram plains for their cattle and free feeding and water so that the farmers will be free to cultivate their land.
