The Inspector General of Police David Asante-Apeatu has directed the immediate interdiction of the three Police officer who allegedly assaulted some journalists working with the Ghanaian Times newspaper.
They are Inspector Isaac Opare of the Ministries Division, Accra, SergeanAssaultt Ebenezer Akrofi of the Accra Regional Police Headquarters and Lance Corporal Evans Kofi Ntim of Police Visibility in Accra.
The IGP has also directed the Accra Regional Crime Officer to take over investigation of the case from the Ministries Police Station, while instructing the Commander of Accra Central Motor Traffic Unit to take over the motor traffic accident of the case.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana Police Service, ACP David Eklu said both are to submit a report on the matter in one week.
