Three female employees of Ghana’s premium financial and insurance giant, GLICO, have successfully completed a Diploma in insurance training at the Ghana Insurance College (GIC) as part of GLICO’s vision to grow the number of technical insurance experts and to encourage its female employers to soar higher.

Nana Efua Rockson,  the Group Head, Corporate Affairs & Marketing, Ms. Vida Kyei, the Legal Officer and Ms. Dorcas Bruce-Annan, a Business Development Officer were part of the recent graduates of the Ghana Insurance College’s 12th Convocation ceremony and awards night held recently.

Congratulating the recent graduates, the Executive Chairman of GLICO GROUP, Mr. Kwame Achampong-Kyei, expressed admiration for the diligence and fortitude exhibited by the ladies in applying themselves to study and successfully passing the insurance course in order to enhance their work. He urged them to soar even higher to attain greater professional laurels.

Since its inception in 1987, GLICO has been consistent in providing an enabling environment for its female staff to thrive. The company believes that at the heart of its growth is the training and empowerment of its female staff to improve technical insurance business capability and for the attainment of business growth and profitability.

Nana Efua Rockson, who received the award for “Best Student in Module 3- Commercial Property Insurance”, commented enthusiastically saying; “I thank GLICO for supporting me in my quest to attain higher professional achievements. I hope that this becomes an inspiration to other female professionals that ‘it can be done”!

Currently, GLICO employs an equitable number of female staff in relation to its male employees across its various functions and units. Over the years, the company has proven to be a game-changer in creating favourable conditions for women to achieve a perfect work-life balance. It is worth noting that GLICO GROUP is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to the provision of insurance and financial services in Ghana for the past three decades and counting.
