The Ashanti Regional Police Command has described a video circulating on social media in which a chief was allegedly accused of slaughtering a human for sacrifice as false.
According to the Police, after analysing the content of the video, they have come to the conclusion that it was a ram that was being killed and not a human being as alleged by the voice heard in a commentary on the video.
The police have therefore in a statement signed and issued by the Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Mr Godwin Ahianyo has urged the public to disregard the video.
He said the woman whose voice run the commentary over the video has since been invited by the police for questioning.
Background
In the video, Nana Appau Ababio Sanwansa, the traditional chief of Hemang in the Ashanti Region, was seen slaughtering what looked like an animal at the forecourt of the palace.

These Ashanti’s will never change. Always using humans for their sacrifices. They now turn humans to animals to slaughter in public, and in their shrines and places.....slaughter people. God is watching. No human has the right to take another’s life. For everything we do, we will surely account for it.
That woman saying they were slaughtering a human being for sacrifice must be called to proof this because she was causing fear and panic in the public domain.
