In an interesting twist of events to the Mankessim shooting, the police have arrested Isaac Eshun also known as Nana Nyeiku VII, the owner of the Zen Filling Station where there was a robbery attempt on Wednesday dawn to help with investigations.
Isaac Eshun is currently in the custody of the Central Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

The Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Oppong told Graphic Online that preliminary crime scene investigations led to the arrested of Eshun.

This is because the Crime Scene Management Team found out that the spent cartridges retrieved from the murder scene were suspected to have been fired from the shotgun and pistol belonging to suspect Isaac Eshun. The crime led to the death of Lance Corporal Kingsley Boahen. Boahen was found in a supine position in a pool of blood wearing blue shorts with a white top.

The murder scene is about 200 metres from the filling station along the Mankessim-Kumasi road. DSP Oppong said efforts were underway to arrest a second suspect to assist with investigations.

Meanwhile, she said suspect Isaac Eshun will be put before court.

DSP Oppong said one pistol and one shotgun belonging to Eshun have been retrieved and retained for evidential purposes.
