The Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolitan office of the National Commission for Civic Education(NCCE) on Sunday visited churches within the Metropolis to step up education on the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
The visit by the NCCE followed the easing of restrictions on social gatherings which permits churches to congregate for one hour with only 100 people at a sitting.
Mr. Kwame Lan Tugbenu, the Metropolitan Director of NCCE told the Ghana News Agency that the Commission went round to educate the public on the need for proper observation of all the Protocols on safety to avoid further spread of the viral disease.
The education was conducted at the Sekondi Methodist Church, Catholic, Presbyterian, and other charismatic churches.
Mr. Tugbenu encouraged the congregants to continue to observe social distancing, the wearing of the nose masks in public places, and most importantly, washing hands with soap and water.
He entreated the leadership of the church visited not to make the observation of the protocols a nine-day wonder but be an integral part of their service henceforth.
