Chief of Madina, Amadu Baba Seidu, has admonished Ghanaians to eschew violence during December 7 presidential parliamentary elections to help sustain the peace in the country.

Violence, he stressed, only deepens wounds and create instability, thus calling on the citizenry, particularly the youth, to be circumspect before, during and after the forthcoming polls.

Chief Amadu gave the advice when the Chief Corporate Communication Officer of Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), Sophia Kudjodjib Lissah, led a delegation from her outfit to pay a courtesy call on the Madina Chief Imam.

The visit formed part of JGC 2020 Annual Thanksgiving Service, themed: “Bless The Lord, Oh My Soul – Psalm 10:3-2.”

According to him, the peace in the country should not be traded for anything less including violence.

As part of the visit, the JGC delegation presented an undisclosed amount of money and some food items to the Madina Mosque

Receiving the items, the Imam of Madina Mosque, Alhaji Abdalah Shuib, expressed gratitude to the Jospong Group of Companies and Zoomlion Ghana Limited for the gesture.

He seized the chance to commend Zoomlion for its unrelenting efforts in collaborating with the government to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

"But for the timely interventions of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, the coronavirus pandemic would have caused major damage in this country," he said.

He further prayed for God's continued blessings, guidance strength and longevity for the Executive Chairman of JGC, Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong, and all his staff members.

"I pray that come next year, the company will grow bigger than now," he said.

He stressed that the company's contribution in ensuring clean environs cannot be overlooked, thereby urged them to continue with their good works.

The Chief Corporate Communication Officer of JGC, Sophia Kudjodjib Lissah, underscored the need to give God Almighty thanks and appreciation for His sustenance in the wake of Covid.

"Despite all these, not even a single person was reported to have suffered or contracted the deadly disease, we thank God," she expressed.

She therefore called for the cooperation of the Muslim community to ensure that the covid-19 safety protocols were adhered to.
