Investigate ECG IT Dep’t Immediately – Sam George To Gov’t
The Deputy Ranking Member of the Communications Committee of Parliament, Samuel Nartey George, is asking government to institute a forensic investigations into activities of some staff at the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) as a matter of urgency.
He said information he has gathered recently suggests that some staff, particularly at the IT Department, are engaging in illicit moves, raking into their personal vaults GH¢200 million every month.
In a post on Sunday, the Ningo-Prampram lawmaker said the Managing Director of the Company, Samuel Dubik Masubir Mahama, got wind of this and in his attempt to investigate it, suffered sabotage, culminating in the disruptions in the prepaid metering system recently.

The challenges with the ECG are extremely serious. The attack on their system was not external but carried out by a cabal of ‘criminals’ within the very same organisation.
The government MUST as a matter of urgency commence a forensic investigation of the IT department of ECG.
My information points to a group that has been siphoning over GH200 million every month! Yes you read that right.
What we are witnessing is internal power play to cripple the new MD who has dared to open an investigation into these matters. The State security apparatus MUST with alacrity take this matter up and ensure the safety and protection of the MD and his team seeking to uncover the mess.
The rot at ECG would make you sick if you truly love this Country and it is not about politicians here. It is Ghanaian citizens taking advantage of the citizens. We demand swift and immediate action!

These and many more are the kind of things we expect our MP to put their heads together and THINK/ WORK for Ghana FIRST!
Interesting, you don't mean it. Hear him ' Ghanaian citizens taking advantage of Ghanaian citizens '. Is there any Ghanaian citizen taking advantage of Ghanaian citizens than politicians? Add the total number of these category of political office holders in Ghana i.e. President, Vice President, ministers, deputy ministers, MP's, MMDCEs, CEO's, council of state. What percentage of public sector salaries goes to these category at the end of every month. Ghana has a public sector workforce of about 600,000. Those mentioned above are less than one thousand. Let's see the percentage. At ECG electricity power can kill, political power rather increases one's life span because of the everything free. Accommodation, water, electricity, vehicle, fuel, per diem, night allowance, air ticket, hotel accommodation, exgratia, clothing allowance, garden boy allowance, entertainment allowance, overtime allowance, all for free. A clear case of George Owell's ' ***barred word*** FARM'. That's GHANA for you. Indeed politics good, everything else bad, same as 4 legs good, 2 legs bad. E bi ti yia , e bi nso ti yia koraaa. Hmmmmm
Hahahaaaa, why complain. They are following in the footsteps of Ghana's so called politicians. That is their version of exgratia. The only difference is that yours is very 48 months and theirs is every 1 month. Maybe you may plead with them to also make theirs every 24 months since the one month may be too early. But for this they are your twin brothers. But for politics when will you have acquired a V8 costing 100,000.00 dollars in 48 months. You think it's only politicians who were born to ride in V8's? If you don't see your leader or leaders stealing you will fear to steal. But when you see people you elected some of whom couldn't afford to pay rent for a chamber and hall room in a compound house becoming mansion and V8 owners in 48 months, why won't others also copy from you. It can't be politics good, all other public sector jobs bad. No it can't. Watch carefully, when you see a mother goat raise it's front legs high, the baby goat also does same. We copy from our so called leaders.
