Ayikoi Otoo, Former Attorney-General in the erstwhile Kufuor Administration, who is holding brief as Counsel for Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, has pleaded with the Supreme Court Justices to tamper justice with mercy and set the sinner free.

Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie who recently courted controversy for himself by making contemptuous remarks about the bench found himself facing the full wrath of the judges when severe cautions were loudly spoken into his ear.

His counsel gave reverence to court and observed that his client has no feet to stand on should the judges decide to pick up judicial arms against him.

According to him, most politicians get charged when they see a large gathering and before you say jack, you might have uttered an unkind word.

He explained to the court that the position of Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie as General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party, might have contributed to the uncouth language he used against the court.

The former A-G averred that the platform on which the comments were passed can be equated to being on a campaign platform and charged the court to also take cognizance of that.
