The West Africa Network of Election Observers (WANEO) has commended the Electoral Commission (EC) for showing a "high level of transparency" ahead of the December 7 general election.
A statement from the network said, "respectfully and wholeheartedly commend the Executive Leadership and all Staff of the Electoral Commission of Ghana(EC) for the impressive management efforts and administrative innovations demonstrated so far in strengthening collective and all-inclusive stakeholders involvement, engagement and active participation in the entire democratic electoral processes in Ghana towards securing a more credible Voters Register nationwide in our collective stakeholders efforts in consolidating Ghana’s sustainable democracy and good governance, peace and security architecture before, during and after the 2024 General Elections in Ghana."
Despite criticisms from mainly the National Democratic Congress (NDC), WANEO believes the EC will ensure a free and fair election.
