The Electoral Commission on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, announced that it has officially released the softcopy of the final voters register to all registered political parties and Independent candidates in accordance with Sub. Regulation 4 and Regulation 27 of the Constitutional Instrument (C.I) 91.
In a letter released by the Electoral commission and signed by the Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations, Mr. Samuel Tettey, the Electoral Commission explained that the soft copies were presented to the Political parties on external hard drives.
The Commission further stated that, at the meeting with political parties on Wednesday, 6th November, the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) requested for the summary of the voters register. Reacting to the demand of the NDC, the EC reacted that it is not required by law to make available such details to the political parties.
The Commission, therefore, assures the general public that they are ever ready to deliver on their mandate as the country prepares to go to the polls on December 7, 2024.
"The Commission assures all stakeholders that the certified Voters Register is robust and credible. We urge the Public to support the Commission to deliver free, fair, transparent and credible elections in December 2024," the Commission assured.
