A 7-Member delegation of the Parliament of Ghana led by the Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu who is also the Acting Vice Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) are in Abuja, Nigeria to attend the 51st Conference of the CPA-Africa region scheduled for the 8th to 13th November 2021.
Other members of the delegation are the Minority Leader and MP for Tamale South, Hon Haruna Iddrisu, Deputy Majority Whip and MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon Lydia Seyram Alhassan, Deputy Minority Whip and MP for Banda, Hon Ahmed Ibrahim, the Clerk to Parliament, Mr Cyril Oteng Nsiah, Mr Richard Kwame Acheampong Principal Assistant Clerk and Head of Speaker's Secretariat and Mr Camillo Pwamang Principal Assistant Clerk and Secretary to the Parliamentary Service Board.
His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari Commander-In-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Vice Patron of the Commonwealth of Nations will open the conference on Thursday 11th October 2022.
Various sub-committees of the CPA-Africa region have held meetings ahead of the official opening ceremony on Thursday.
Topics to be discussed here at workshops as part of the 7-day program include "A Parliamentary agenda for promoting investments in the health sector in Africa during and after the Covid-19 Pandemic."
