Bernard Mornah, a flagbearer hopeful of the People's National Convention (PNC), has refuted the claim that he was disqualified from contesting.
Mr. Mornah has reportedly been disqualified based on media reports on Thursday, following an investigation by the National Disciplinary Committee, which found him guilty of misconduct and violating the party's constitution.
However, during an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Mr. Mornah stated that he had not been disqualified. He emphasized that the Disciplinary Committee does not have the authority to disqualify him.
"The National Executive Committee (NEC) has not discussed any disciplinary issue...the Disciplinary Committee after an investigation only has to make recommendations and conclusions and refer the matter to the NEC. The Disciplinary Committee cannot disqualify" he stated.
He further accused his opponent, David Apasera, of being behind the reports of his disqualification.
Meanwhile, Bernard Mornah is confident of winning the upcoming National Delegates Congress of the party scheduled for tomorrow, September 7, 2024.
"I am optimistic that I will be the victor tomorrow and I'll be the next President of the Republic of Ghana..." he intimated.
