Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament has failed to defend a suit at the Supreme Court seeking an interpretation of Article 97(1) (g) and (h); the constitutional provision that led him to declare four seats in Parliament vacant.
The Speaker's legal team was notably absent from the court proceedings and failed to submit their statement of case, raising questions about the defense of this crucial matter.
During the hearing on Monday morning, the Supreme Court’s seven-member panel, chaired by Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo, moved forward with the proceedings despite the absence because the plaintiff, Alexander Afenyo-Markin and the Attorney-General, who is the second defendant, have all filed their processes.
