Some minority members of parliament have described the mid-year review of the budget statement and economic policy of the government which was presented to parliament by the finance and economic planning minister, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor as not reflecting the true situation on the ground.
According to the MP for Asikuma Odoben-Brakwa, Hon. P. C. Appiah Ofori, who spoke to Peace FM in an interview, the economic policy sounds excellent on paper but its implementation would be a failure due to lack of funds.
The former Deputy Minister of Finance and MP for Wenchi, Prof. George Gyan-Baffour, told Peace FM in an interview that the finance ministers claim that inflation rate has declined is not true because cost of goods and services are still high.
