Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Malik Kwaku Baako, believes that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party is gradually but surely getting to the end of the Rawlings hold over the party.
According to him, the Rawlings phenomenon in the NDC is gradually being demystified.
The NDC is being torn apart and is going through some self-inflicted collective agonywe are gradually but surely getting insight of the end of the Rawlings illusion; the Rawlings phenomenon is being demystified, he stated.
Speaking on Joy FMs Newsfile Programme, he rubbished Article 6 of the NDCs constitution which states inter alia that the founding father of the party is Jerry Rawlings and the party was established on his visions and leadership.
According to him, it is a political absurdity and abnormality.
Article 6 of the NDCs constitution that statesthe founding father of the party is Jerry John Rawlings upon whose vision and leadership the party was establishedIt was a constitutional absurdity or abnormalityit is a political myth that they chose collectively to live with. Theyve lived a lie all these years and theyve been living it for some time, he stated.
To him, for the NDC to say it was established on the principles and ideologies of Mr Rawlings is a complete myth, in that the former President lacks managerial capacity and the discipline to form a political party.
The reason why I say its a myth is that Jerry Rawlings lacks managerial capacity, technical skills and the discipline to form a political party, he added.
He further stated that the NDC is a party in transition and that transitional process started after the partys defeat in the 2000 General Elections.
The NDC is in transition and it will never be the same again. Indeed their transition began after their defeat in the 2000 electionThe NDC began to become a party when it went into opposition and they undertook some re-organization process, he stated.
