The wife of the National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress, Comfort Adubea Adjei, has picked up nomination forms to contest the Akropong Constituency Parliamentary seat.
Mrs. Adjei is the NDC Chairperson for the Constituency, which is in the Eastern region. She says the motivation to join the parliamentary race is her desire to contribute her quota to the development of the constituency.
Comfort Adubea Adjei told Citi News she is confident delegates would give her the nod not because she is the wife of the National Chairman, but for her contribution so far in the constituency.
“The delegates have seen the kind of work I have done. Most of them certainly know the kind of work I have done and they would certainly vote for me to have the victory for the main election.
“The reception is very perfect and even as I speak now we just came from almost four palaces, we went there and it was wonderful, the chiefs, the people and especially the women, they are so glad to see their fellow woman coming to stand for an election because this is the first time of such a thing in this constituency”.
