Mr Victor Smith, Ghanas Ambassador to the Czech Republic, has picked a form to contest the Abuakwa North Primary Parliamentary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Smith received a rousing welcome from sympathizers, who were mostly members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) when he arrived at the constituency office at Kukurantumi to pick his form.
Some members of the NPP who spoke to the GNA explained that they were supporting Mr Smith from the NDC because they worked with Mr Joseph Boakye Dankwa Adu, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate-elect for the area, during the Kufuor Administration but did not see any development in the area.
They said they wanted development and would, therefore, vote for someone who could develop the area. Speaking to reporters, Mr Smith said he was ready to leave his work as an ambassador to come and help develop the area. He observed that the area had been underdeveloped for far too long and promised a genuine development when given the nod in 2012.
