The Tamale Central Youth Coalition of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC)in the Northern Region are on the streets demonstrating for the removal of its acting Regional Chairman Chief Sofo Azorka.
They have threatened to teach the Acting Northern Regional Chairman of the party, Chief Sofo Azorka, a bitter lesson if he does not stop disrespecting the elderly of the party in the region and resign immediately.
The NDC Youth Coalition said, the actions and inactions of the Acting Regional Chairman were undermining the peace and unity among the rank and file of the party in the region which might lead the party to opposition if no rectified now.
Abdulai Saani a youth executive who organized the demonstration and spoke to Peace Fm in an interview with Kwami Sefa-Kayi on the “Kokrokoo” programme, said the acting regional chairman lacks the credibility to lead the party in the region.
Peace Fm’s Northern Regional correspondent Kwabena Ntow who was at the demonstration gathering at the Tamale Jubilee park reports that, the coalition plans to lock the party offices in the region till Chief Sofo Azorka is replaced by the national executives of the party.
