The Executive Director of policy think tank, Danquah Institute has lashed out at leading members of the New Patriotic Party for not educating Ghanaians on the developmental policies delivered by their flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.
According to ‘Gabby’ Asare Otchere Darko, Akufo-Addo’s speech delivered at the Liberty lecture a few days ago in Accra contained various policy directions for the country.
He said the NPP flagbearer’s speech made proposals as to how the NPP will address issues of poverty, unemployment, health among others.
Mr. Otchere Darko said these policy issues must be explained to Ghanaians ahead of the 2012 elections. In an interview with Citi News, he said the NPP elites appear to have ignored these issues which could cost the party greatly if steps are not taken quickly.
He said senior members of the NPP have been clouded by the latest Wikileaks exposé leaving relevant policy issues that are of importance to the NPP to rest. “I am just saying that we are allowing ourselves to be somehow overwhelmed by this cloud of Wikileaks smoke rather than focusing on matters that are important.
“If your Presidential leader has offered such policy statement I think that it is up to the brains in the party top take it up and bring it to the forefront of public discussion and that is where my disappoint is. "So I am asking the question where are the brains if you are there them please wake up and be counted, let us hear you”.
