THE 2008 presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), who doubles as a former parliamentarian for the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) constituency in the Central region, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has appealed to residents in the area not to vote for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Dr. Joseph Samuel Annan in the 2012 general elections.
According to him, the NDC had done nothing to improve the standard of living of the people in the area but had rather brought hardship which was killing residents.
“Since NDC assumed office, tell me what they have done for you in Elmina. What they have done is seize equipment of fishermen after promising them heaven on earth,” he said.
Dr. Nduom noted that even though the constituency was well known for its fishing activities, the NDC had totally collapsed the fishing industry after President Mills promised to support the industry.
He disclosed this on Tuesday at the inauguration of a refurbished CPP constituency office in Elmina.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nduom stated that Dr. Annan did not deserve to be given a second term as MP since the constituency could not boast of a single project he had embarked upon to uplift the image of the area.
DAILY GUIDE can state on authority that some youth in some communities in the KEEA constituency have promised to hoot at the MP, who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, whenever he stepped foot in those communities to register their disappointment in him.
Dr. Nduom however charged the people to give CPP the chance in the 2012 general elections since the CPP was the only party which could relieve Ghanaians from the frustrations created as a result of the bad governance of the Mills-led government.
He added that CPP was the only party which ensured total development for the country, adding that should the party be given the nod again, it would continue the good works of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Dr. Nduom therefore charged the constituency executives to make good use of the office, and work assiduously to win more votes for the party in order to win the KEEA parliamentary seat.
The former National Organiser of the party, Madam Evelyn Lamisi advised the electorates not to elect an MP who was a womanizer, drunkard and had no vision to champion the course of development in their respective constituencies.
