Zita Okaikoi has lost the Dome-Kwabenya primary of the ruling national democratic congress.
She was beaten by Sophia Akuako who has 100 votes. Zita polled 87 ballots.
Two others contestants Isaac Adama and Isaac Affum had 73 and a vote respectively.
Sophia Akuoko told Citi News that she is overwhelmed, adding I just want to thank God for everything. ..I really worked hard on the ground, I believed that the work is more at the grassroots than talking on air and always publishing in the papers because this is primaries and we are dealing with less than 300 people.
"You know all of them and you know their homesI made sure that I visit them all the time, I talk to them, I communicate with them a lot," said an elated Akuoko
She said neither Zita nor any of the other two contestants had any complaints.
Everything went on smoothly, it was clear and transparent, we all accepted [the results].
