Deputy National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Barbara Asamoah, has added salt to the injuries of agitated members of the ruling party by telling them to rejoice when they see top NDC members like her driving in flashy and expensive cars.

she told the disconcerted NDC members across the country not to make so much noise and wail about government's inability to solve their problems after three years in office.

Instead, Madam Asamoah told the disillusioned NDC members to take consolation from the fact that some of their own party members were now riding in big cars just as the NPP did during the 2008 electioneering campaign. According to her, due to lack of funds in 2008, most of the leading NDC members campaigned for the party on foot whilst the NPP members rode in big cars. she noted that now things had changed following the NDCs assumption of office three years ago as most of the ruling party's members were now also riding in big cars ahead of the elections.

Madam Asamoah therefore told the NDC faithful that seeing their colleague NDC members living flamboyantly and riding in big cars should make them happy and confident that it would soon be their turn. she was addressing NDC supporters in Kumasi during the launch of the Ashanti Regional Sub-Committees of the NDC for the impending presidential and parliamentary elections. Even before she could finish her statement, some agitated NDC members at the Prempeh Assembly Hall started raining insults and curses at her for being selfish. But the NDC Deputy National youth Organiser, who ignored the jeers, urged the agitated followers of the party to for once put a stop to their numerous complaints and start campaigning vigorously for the party to retain power in 2012. she said at the top of voice, "stop complaining that you have not seen anything and start campaigning for the NDC to retain political power in the coming polls. Describing the polls as dicey, she entreated every member of the NDC to contribute his or her quota to make sure that President Mills emerged winner of the polls so as to better their lives with good programmes.

Madam Asamoah took a swipe at the NDC Communication team, describing it as very weak, lamenting that this had helped the NPP take undue advantage to make mockery of the NDC in the media. According to her, the NDC supporters had been uncharacteristically quiet to her discomfort, urging them to rise and face the opposition NPP squarely because "the NDC government has performed splendidly so far"
