Hundreds of supporters of business mogul Alfred Woyome have besieged the premises of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to protest the arrest and detention of the man who is at the centre of the GHC 51million judgement scandal.
Most of the supporters are believed to have hailed from the Volta region are calling for the release of Mr. Woyome whom they call “our papa”.
They expressed disappointment at the ruling party, its executives and government for that matter for arresting one of their own, who according to a leader of the group has been touted by the party executives as “an NDC financier”.
Citifmonline. com is reliably informed that some more supporters are heading to Accra from the Volta region to throw their support behind Mr. Woyome and call for the party to immediately release him from police CID custody.
Mr. Woyome was picked up on Friday by the police and spent the whole of Friday night in BNI cells. As of the time his supporters picketed the premises of the party at about 4:15pm on Saturday, Mr. Woyome was still in CID grips.
