Some angry youth of the People’s National Convention (PNC) in the Northern regional capital of Tamale have vandalised the party’s shed and other paraphernalia in the Aboabo market.
Reasons for the vandalisation are yet to be established, but a member of the PNC who chose to be called Jacob said it was largely due to the election of Hassan Ayariga as the presidential candidate of the party for the December elections.
Abdulai Zakariah Abdul Razak, the PNC northern regional secretary, condemned the act and told Citi News a committee has been put in place to investigate the matter.
“A cross section of our party youth at the Aboabo lorry park vandalised our party shed in the middle of the market where the PNC, NPP and CPP also have theirs,” he said.
Razak added: “I saw some of our party youth numbering about 20 there; I asked them what happened and nobody told me anything but we have launched investigations into it. ”
