The Northern Regional NDC Youth Coalition has welcomed Mr. Alfred Woyomes bail after spending a week in police cells.
The group earlier threatened to organise a mammoth demonstration in Tamale against the Ghana government if Mr. Woyome had not been granted bail within 48 hours.
Mr. Woyome was released on bail on Monday in the sum of GhC54 million with two sureties to justify. Mr. Woyome is expected to report to the police twice a week.
The spokesperson for the coalition, Mubasir Majee, earlier in an interview with Citi News expressed the groups displeasure over why Mr. Yaw Osafo-Maafo and Mr. O. B Amoah who have been indicted by the same Economic and Organised Crimes Office (EOCO) report are walking free.
He said nothing would have stopped the coalition from organising the demonstration if Mr. Woyome had not been granted bail. We are very happy and grateful to government for heeding our cries. And we just want them to bring the truth out of the whole matter, Majeed said.
