Ladies and Gentlemen of the press, good morning and welcome to today's press conference.

The Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) will like to state without any reservation that, it was not shocked at all, at the turn of events in the Alfred Agbesi Woyome trial last Tuesday the 5th of June. Indeed, we predicted a drop of charges or an amendment rather than the "staged drama" of dropping the charges, proffering fresh charges, and re-arresting.

AFAG is unperturbed at the attempts by the A.G to hide behind the cover of technicalities to frustrate Ghanaians, aiming very well to conceal the well orchestrated gargantuan crime caused by Alfred Agbesi Woyome in connivance with Betty Mould-Iddrisu, Kwabena Duffour, Barton Oduro and the Presidency.

Ladies & gentlemen, we can analyze to state without any shroud of doubt that, the President is involved in this judgment debt saga. This is simply so because, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, Barton Oduro and Kwabena Duffour were appointed by, and to act on behalf of the President whiles Samuel Nerquaye-Tetteh and Paul Asimenu provided technical advice and acted on behalf of their ministers.

By this logic, letting off the hook these civil servants implies; the state is unwilling to engage those ministers who, apart from their inordinate desire to benefit from this grand conspiracy to rid the state of its scarce resources, could have only acted in this case(where huge sums of monies were involved), upon an executive instruction.

Ladies & gentlemen of the press, every pesewa of these payments must, and can only be retrieved, where clear leadership is shown. In this judgement debt saga, there is absolute paralysis of leadership. Where leadership fails in making decisions that will protect the welfare of the people, the inescapable consequence is that, the citizenry resort to mass actions to press home for justice.

The justice we need has been denied the Ghanaian in this judgement debt saga for far too long. However, we the poor Ghanaians continue to pay for these costly decisions by such reckless government appointees, through the dictates of the current harsh economic regime; where the Ghanaian is over burdened with high taxes on goods and services, and its attendant high cost of living, unemployment, especially amongst the youth and soaring fuel prices.

Ladies & gentlemen, AFAG will like to caution the IMF to stay off the back of poor Ghanaians. Whilst they are quick to advice the president and his finance minister who are neck deep in misallocation of the scarce resources of Ghanaians in this judgement debt saga to remove fuel subsidies, and consequently increase fuel prices, they have never stated their position on the harrowing corruption scandals rocking government to its spine. The IMF means no good to Ghanaians because they are only interested in amortization of their loans and not how they are applied to the benefit of Ghanaians.

This is sad, as helpless Ghanaians continue to wallow in abject poverty because of the unprecedented corruption in the Mills-Mahama lead government.

Mr. Attorney General, with respect to the Woyome-Gate Scandal, there are few allegations AFAG would want you to respond to;

1. Is it true that, Nerquaye Tetteh was set up by Betty Mould to travel outside the country when the news of this Woyome scandal broke up?

2. Is it true that, Betty Mould called Nerquaye-Tetteh to leave the country whilst at the same time; she alerted the National security to arrest him at the airport?

3. Is it not the case that, the then chief state attorney did not heed to Betty's advice and stayed at home?

4. Is it not the case that there was no such arrest, because he did not go through any travelling formality at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) though it was widely reported in the media circles that he had been arrested at KIA?

5. Was this a calculated set up or a staged managed drama?

6. Have you found out why it is alleged that, the president had instructed minister Duffour not to tender in any Police statement, and that although the police had invited Duffour severally to write his statement, he on all occasions have declined?

7. Ladies & gentlemen of the press, you may in the interest of the public find out from the Police to either corroborate our substantiated intelligence. Also, is it not the case, that Barton Oduro kept resisting attempts by the former Attorney General (Martin Amidu) to go ahead to prosecute Alfred Woyome, and on countless occasions stated the state had no case in denying payments to Woyome?

8. Ladies & gentlemen of the press, in the interest of the public can you find out why he (Ebow Baton Oduro) is still in office?
Simply put, ladies and gentlemen of the press, the fresh charges remain a faade

Our resolution:
AFAG, in the interest of the public, is giving a 5-working day ultimatum to government and the Attorney General to undertake the following actions;

1. Arrest Dr Kwabena Duffour

2. Arrest Madam Betty-Mould Iddrisu

3. Dismiss Ebow Barton Oduro
Until an amendment to the fresh charges is made and the above ministers charged accordingly, AFAG together with all Ghanaians, who believe in the principle of equity, accountability, equality and justice for all, will rise up, and sustain sufficient pressure on Government through a series of demonstrations and civil actions, to press home for justice in the judgment debt saga.

Failure to undertake the actions stated above, AFAG will inform the police accordingly and communicate immediately to the public the place and date of the first of a series of demonstration with regards to these gargantuan and unprecedented corruptions rocking the Mills-Mahama government.

Aluta Continua!
