The spokesperson for the Rawlingses, Kofi Adams, has said he has no intention of withdrawing his court case against the ruling National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) national executives over his suspension.

Mr. Adams was suspended by the NDC Functional Executive Committee following a leaked tape involving him and opposition NPP’s Gabby Asare Otchere Darko through which he allegedly vowed to prevent President John Evans Atta Mills from securing a second term in the December polls.

He has since been battling it out with the party in court.

According to media reports, the embattled NDC Deputy General Secretary has decided to withdraw the court case.

Speaking to Citi News, Mr. Adams rubbished the reports and said, “I am not withdrawing any case against the party; we have only moved from Appeal Court back to the High Court to pursue the case and my lawyers only returned from the Appeal Court back to the High Court because they feel the case can be handled at the High Court platform.”

According to him, the High Court will resume hearing on the case on July 12.

Adams described as “unconstitutional” the decision to co-opt some members of the Democratic Freedom Party as NDC executive members at all levels.

“I am not surprised because it is part of the disregard for the party’s constitution; the party makes room for co-opting and you cannot co-opt more than the number that the constitution allows; so if you go ahead and do something in contravention of the constitution you are acting ultra vile,” he pointed out.
