The Deputy Chief of Staff, Alex Segebefia says the emergency of the newly formed National Democratic Party (NDP) will not derail government efforts in achieving its ĎBetter Ghana Agendaí.
The new political party linked to former First lady Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has been viewed by political analysts as another test for the NDC ahead of the December polls.
The NDP which is yet to receive full certification from the Electoral Commission has already appointed former NDC General Secretary Josiah Aryeh as its National Chairman.
However, Mr. Alex Segbefia, speaking on Radio XYZís Current Affairs program, Ďthe Analystí said it is too early to start assessing the possible impact of the new party on the NDC. Mr. Segbefia said ďI have to take everything with a pinch of salt because at the moment there isnít even a political party.
ďIt hasnít been formed and therefore one would have to be very careful in oneís mind before we start to talk on issues of this nature otherwise all we will be doing is speculating.
ďThere would come a time when one would have to speak, I am an NDC member, I know who my flagbearer is and I am focusing on ensuring that the NDC under the leadership of President Mills retains power and continues his second termĒ.
