CENTRAL REGIONAL Minister Ama Benyiwa Doe on Thursday evening stunned listeners of Kessben FM in Kumasi when she failed to state a single programme of the NDC government in her area in the past three- and-a-half years.
The outspoken politician chickened out when Akuoko Kwarteng, the host of ĎAdwenkyire,í a political talk show on Kessben FM, asked her severally to state a single NDC project in Cape Coast.
Despite being pushed to the wall, the Central Regional minister could only state that ďat the right time, I will come out with the NDC governmentís projects at Cape Coast.Ē
Though she could not pinpoint a single project by the Mills government in Cape Coast, Madam Benyiwa Doe said, ďGive me two weeks and I will outline all the projects embarked upon by the government.Ē
She stressed that though the NDC government had achieved a lot at Cape Coast, she would not allow the NPP to push her to outline the governmentís projects in the area.
Madam Benyiwa Doe said she was an experienced politician, therefore the NPP could not push her to dance to their tune, stating the NPP tricks would never work on her.
ďIf the NPP push me I will not respond,Ē she noted, arguing that as a politician, it was important that she knew when to go public and when to keep mute, reiterating that in two weeksí time, she would come out in grand style with the governmentís projects in Cape Coast.
The host, who was bent on knowing what the NDC government had done in Cape Coast, was not convinced by the ministerís excuse and therefore asked her again about works that the government had done at the Kotokuraba market so far.
In her response, Madam Benyiwa Doe said, ďYou want to be smart, I have told you I will not speak on the projects we have undertaken at Cape Coast now, so please donít try to be smart.Ē
Again, when asked what projects she would campaign about as a minister to win more votes for President Mills in the coming polls at Cape Coast, the NDC politician surprisingly could not utter a word, only saying, ďI wonít talk.Ē
Madam Benyiwa Doe, who was silent on the NDC governmentís projects, was however very vocal when the subject matter was changed from projects to personalities.
She described the NPP parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast, Alfred Kojo Thompson, as a toddler who sucked his motherís breast, adding that he could not compete with her when it came to politics.
She said both Mr. Thompson and Nana Akufo-Addo would not make any headway at Cape Coast in terms of votes in the coming elections, noting that the NPP did nothing at Cape Coast in the eight years they were in power.
