Even before the issuance of an Electoral Commission (EC) certificate to commence political business, the National Democratic Party (NDP) has taken delivery of large stocks of the party’s logo embossed T-shirts and expensive looking car stickers.
Last week, Daily Guide chanced upon samples of the afore-mentioned party paraphernalia which an insider of the grouping described as evidential of the party’s seriousness.
The sticker, as shown in the accompanying picture, depicts a white pigeon with a Gye Nyame symbol to its beak against a red background. The main colours are red, green and black with the motto of the party, Justice, Unity, Peace and Progress at the bottom.
Party functionaries are confident of receiving their certificate from the EC sometime this week and as they put it “when we do we would move to another phase in our operations.”
The NDP is suspected to be a party of the Rawlingses although the former first couple has not announced its association with it directly or otherwise. The former first couple has for now kept everybody in suspense preferring to remain mum about their relationship with the yet-to-be outdoored party.
Some National Democratic Congress (NDC) members such as Deputy Information Minister Samuel Ablakwa Okudzeto have sought to downplay the survivability of the party with Ablakwa particularly describing it as stillborn.
Their application for a certificate was stalled earlier when their colours were said to be in conflict with the NDC’s by the EC.
