With less than 80 days to the General Election, representation of women in Parliament has come up again for discussion.
Research on the performance of women candidates in the 2010 district level elections in Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions revealed that women are poorly represented at lower levels of government.
The study is therefore recommending the need for tactful sensitization and education among citizens to increase the chances of women's participation in governance.
The Minister of Women and Children's Affairs, Juliana Azumah-Mensah agreed with this at the launch of the research report in Accra.
