The MP-elect for the Odododiodio constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye, says he is clearly astounded at the way President John Dramani Mahama campaigned for only a few days yet ended up pulling a surprise by beating his main challenger, Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party, who he claimed had been campaigning for years.
According to Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye, who appeared as a panelist on Metro TVs Good Morning Ghana programme, ever since the NDC won the elections; the foundation of the main opposition party has been shaken to the core so much so that their leaders still appear stumped.
The only consolation or antidote to the insufferable electoral pain afflicted on them by the NDC is to hide behind the allegation that the Electoral Commission connived with the ruling party to rob them.
All they are doing is to say oh! we have been cheated for their supporters to think that they did their best but just that they were not allowed the victory, he said.
Taking a direct swipe at the campaign strategists of the New Patriotic Party, the Presidential Aide accused the NPP of deceiving Ghanaians that they had the most effective campaign in the run up to the elections.
Two years, three years on the road; they said they had the most effective campaign machine...the most effective and convincing message. Then John Mahama used thirty nine days to make nonsense of all this campaign that they have done, he added.
He crowed that if thirty-nine-days could land the NPP that hefty blow, then they should be wary if the NDC is to campaign for President Mahama for a year.

Mahama As Veep Was More Visible Than Mills
But Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr., who appeared alongside the NDC Communicator on the show, punched holes in the thirty-nine-day campaign period he was harping on about stressing that in his estimation; John Mahama, then Vice President, was more visible than the late former President Mills.
Mr Baako further asserted that the current president was all over the place launching programs left-right and center even when he was the Veep.
Mr. Mahama was visible from day one of the Mills' administration till he became president of this country. When he became president, he went on a thank you tour which was part of the campaigning and effectively as president, he went on campaign...lets cut out this thirty nine days thing; it is a propaganda driven by a certain fallacy that is not sustainable, he established.
