Three candidates have filed their nominations to contest the Akatsi South seat on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The seat become vacant after its substantive Member of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho was elected speaker for the 6th parliament of the 4th Republic.

Constituency Secretary Daniel Dagba told XYZ News in an interview that his office will superintend an incident-free election process to ensure that a winnable candidate is elected for the by-election.

About a week ago, the Electoral Commission slated February 5 as the day for the by-election to be held.
