The NPP has disassociated itself from posters of a leading member,Allan Kyerematen being posted at vantage points in the Ho Municipality. The posters read “New Hope 2016 Allan Kyerematen”.

The Volta Regional Chairman of the Party, Ken-Wuud Nuworsu who made the declaration at a news conference in Ho said the act is an attempt by disgruntled elements to destroy the unity and cohesion of the party.

According to Mr. Nuworsu the phenomenon is assuming a national dimension, with Allan Kyerematen’s posters being posted all over the country.

He noted that whether the perpetrators are from within or without the party, their evil deeds can divide the party’s front as well as destroy the integrity and posture of the personality involved.

Mr. Nuworsu called on those involved in such propaganda to put a stop to it. He cautioned that anybody caught in the act will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Mr. Nuworsu however called on the party’s supporters to remain resolute and confident in the leadership of the party.

On the boycott of the forthcoming bye elections in the Volta Region, Mr. Nuworsu said the party took the decision to stress the point that they are in court challenging the integrity of the Electoral Commission.

It will therefore not be prudent to participate in elections being conducted by the same institution. He indicated that the party will only advise itself when the Supreme Court gives its ruling on the electoral petition it has filed.
