Anthony Abayifa Kabo, the former Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party has sent a word of caution to Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey, a leading member of the party to be careful with his utterances which are clearly geared towards “derailing” the efforts of the NPP in the on-going election 2012 petition in the Supreme Court or risk the wrath of the young people in the party.
“….I can tell you on authority that the grassroots of our party, the young people of our party are sick and tired of Dr. Wereko-Brobbey’s utterances,” he fumed.
The former youth leader of the NPP could not understand why Dr. Wereko-Brobbey could suggest that “someone who admits in court that he is a palm wine tapper is masterful than a Doctor, an educated person who has taken his time with the electoral laws”.
“Does Wereko-Brobbey think he is the only one who understands elections in this country”? Karbo questioned.
The word of caution from the former youth leader who claims reflects the feeling of the young people in the NPP comes on the back of an article in which he claimed that the NPP could have put “a more experienced” star witness, who is well vested in the Ghanaian electoral system rather than Dr. Mahamudu Bawubia who was “clueless” in the dock.
This assertion, Anthony Kabo does not only disagree to but warned the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the defunct [email protected] Celebrations to refrain from the seemingly attempt to impede the progress being made in the Supreme Court by the party.
The former NPP youth organizer further debunked the claims that Dr. Wereko Brobbey secured victory for the NPP in the year 2000 election which brought ex-President John Agyekum Kufour into power.
“He talks about securing victory for us in 2000. In 2000 he was not a member of the party so how did he secure that victory,” he angrily asked.
In the view of Anthony Kabo, Dr. Wereko Brobbey has clearly shown he has an axe to grind with certain personalities in the NPP because the party declined his wish of being appointed the Director of Elections due to his behavior.
“He is a maverick. He feels that he knows it all and nobody else knows it and he is the only intelligent person in this party,” Karbo opined.
