The NDC Member of Parliament for Juaboso constituency, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has said that the NPP has carved a syndrome for itself that “if NPP is not in power nobody is sensible enough to rule Ghana”.

He said that in every election since the practice of democracy in the country, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accepted two elections to be genuine because these are the elections they party won.

Making his submission on Okay FM, he said that any other election which the NPP did not win were described as rigged in connivance with the same Electoral Commission which they accepted its declaration when it favored them.

He referred that when the NPP won elections in 2000 and 2004, there were no issues raised doubting the credibility of the Electoral Commission; in that it is on record of the NPP that the 1996, 2008 and 2012 elections have not been fairly organized and conducted in the country except those which the NPP won.

He opined that “we cannot continue to live this way in the country”; adding that this character of the NPP is what Dr. Wereko-Brobbey wants his party to avoid so that as a responsible political party they will accept defeat and return to the drawing board to strategize for the 2016 election.

He predicted that with the preparation of the NDC ahead of the 2016 election, the NPP should not complain about rigging since they have decided to dedicate their time, energy and resource to the court case.

He however educated that the declaration of result is largely dependent on the number of votes each candidate gets, but then the issue of irregularities has lees effect on the election results.
