Lawyer Abraham Amaliba has said he is unperturbed by the order from the Supreme Court Judges hearing the election petition to mind comments on the case in the media.

The judges on Thursday criticized Mr. Amaliba, a member of the legal team for the first and third respondents for revealing privileged information and distorting facts about the case.

They threatened to deal with him and any other person who repeats the act.

In an interview with Citi News, Mr. Amaliba said he was not perturbed by the tongue-lashing from the judges.

哲o dustbin can complain that there is too much rubbish being poured into it. Once I have chosen to do this work as a legal communicator for my legal team, I think that once in a while, we would have this hiccup, he stated.

Mr. Amaliba further stated, 鄭ll over the world, communicators in one way or the other found themselves in roles that they did not represent the two sides. I am not bothered and discouraged; if you call me tomorrow, I will still talk about these matters because that is the job I have chosen to do for my legal team and party.

The President of the Supreme Court Election Petition panel, Justice William A. Atuguba, on Thursday cautioned lawyers to be circumspect in the comments they make on the case.

He said it was baffling that some lawyers are more committed to the course of their political parties than their own profession, which is their life.

Justice Atuguba gave the caution in addition to comments made by Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, Counsel for the third respondent and Justice Jones Dotse that some lawyers and political commentators are going about misrepresenting facts in the election petition.

He said the legal profession is very important to the country痴 democracy and advised members to keep it as sacrosanct as possible.

He said the presidency for now is at stake due to what happens at the bench and the bar.
