A member of the New Patriotic Party�s (NPP), Disciplinary Committee, Ayikoi Otoo has defended the two-year suspension of Dr. Charles Wereko Brobby from the party.
The National Executive Committee upheld the Disciplinary Committee�s recommendations after analyzing the extent of damage Dr. Wereko Brobby�s comments on the party.
Speaking to Citi news, a member of the Committee, and former Attorney General, Ayikoi Otto insists they only acted according to the constitution of the party.
�The duties imposed on all members under the NPP constitution including upholding publicly, decisions of the party, and not doing anything that will bring the good name of the country to disrepute,� he added.
He further added that, with Dr. Wereko Brobby's issue, the National Executive Committee considered him to have breached his duties as a member of the party (NPP) and at the end of the day they recommended a suspension,� he said.
