Corruption in Ghana has been common since independence. Over the years, Ghanas score and ranking on the Transparency International Corruption Perception Index has improved slightly, ranked higher than most African countries.
However, there is a growing perception in Ghana that government-related corruption is on the rise in the Mahama-led administration.
But a Deputy National Propaganda Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon Nkansah has said, fighting corruption in Ghana has become tougher since even some Religious leaders are not worthy of trust in recent times.
According to him Ghanaians should not blame President Mahama for Ghanas corruption since the New Patriotic Party under President Kufuor could not even minimize the canker.
Solomon Nkansah is of a view that, to fight corruption then we must all be very careful and assess ourselves well. First take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brothers eye.
He however said on Adom FM that, Even in this country, Pastors keep preaching that come and ye shall be richis it not the same money they (Pastors) want? If you willingly give out huge amounts of money in church, trust me, you will be appointed as an elder.
