The former deputy speaker of parliament, Freddy Blay, who is currently gunning to be the first Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has disclosed that Western Publications, Publishers of Daily Guide newspaper who were recently convicted of defamation against the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, until they exhaust all legal means possible, will not pay the "kwasia bi nti" money.

According to him, they still stand by their publication and that they are not remorseful about it. Speaking to Hello fm's King Edward this morning, he maintained that they were convinced that what they published was right.

The story was of national interest, we wanted the public to know how public officers in a spate of time become rich to the extent that they build mansions and that is our job, we did no wrong.

Look, let me tell you, we were surprised at the way the judgement went but that is democracy. The media, judiciary and politicians are all doing their work to bring sanity into the system but if you are slapped with a judgement of GH255,000 cedis? we leave to see as a country.

Anyway, we are still convinced about our publication and we are not making any apologies, we are pursuing this case to the latter, not that we cannot pay but we want the right thing to be done as watchmen of the city. We are convinced the judge was wrong with his judgement.

Moreover, because we do not want "kwasia bi" to reside in "kwasia bi nti" mansion, we will pursue this case to the highest court of the land, he maintained.
