President John Mahama says he is excited at the level of entrepreneurial energy among young people in Ghana.
He says this gives him hope of succeeding with his "Made-in-Ghana" campaign.
The President, on his facebook wall, encouraged Ghanaians to read the inspiring story of a young entrepreneur called Fred Deegbe who in 2011 quit his banking job to dedicate himself fully to ambitious shoe making ventures.
The story of Fred Deegbe was highlighted by CNN on its website. Deegbes shoes cost between $200 to $400.
President Mahama wrote Yes, most of our people cannot afford to buy such shoes, but these are the spirit and the initiative I am looking for in the "Made-in-Ghana" campaign.
He added: This story is not the only example of the entrepreneurial energy in Ghana
