Kwamena Duncan, Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on Ghanaians to vote massively for the NPP to come back to power to fix the fragile economy.
According to Mr. Duncan, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has no solution to the current economic crisis that has hit the country.
Making the call when he addressed a forum organized by the Mahodwe Polling Station Executives of the Party at Agona Swedru,
Mr. Duncan said, the NDC describes itself as a social democratic party, but has woefully failed to fulfill its social contract that can push Ghanaians into better lives.
According to Mr. Duncan, all the social interventions established by former President Kufuor’s administration to alleviate the sufferings of Ghanaians have become malfunctioned, due to the bad governance of the NDC.
Mr. Duncan charged polling station executives of the NPP, especially the youth and women organizers, to intensify their membership drive to win more supporters for NPP in 2016.
He called on the rank and file of the party to bury their political differences to assist the party to come back to power.
Mrs. Cynthia Morrison, Central Regional Women Organizer, commended Mahodwe polling Executives and Coordinators for their sense of direction in organizing the forum to learn more about preparations towards 2016 Elections.
She called on the party supporters at the grassroots, as well as the regional and national executives, not to ignore the involvement of old executives, including former President Kufuor, in the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary campaign.
The Regional Women Organizer assured that the Agona West Parliamentary seat will be recaptured, and urged supporters to work hard towards it.
Mr. Alex Takyi Manson, Central Regional Communication Director, urged NPP members to make efforts to contribute to the messages and phone –in programmes to help propagate the campaign messages of the NPP.
He appealed to NPP supporters and communication directors to package their information well to win more votes for the party.
Nana Ampim Darko and Mr. Ernest Amagashie, Mahodwe Coordinator and Executive Member respectively, pledged their support to assist the party to win more votes in the 2016 elections.
They said the ultimate aim of the Mahodwe polling station executives is to help the constituency executives to recapture the lost parliamentary seat.
Mr. Adofo Dwamena, former Chairman of the Agona West constituency, who chaired the function, said the party lost the parliamentary seat due to negligence on the part of some polling station officers in 2012.
He said the NPP has given the seat to NDC as a loan and it would be taken away from NDC in 2016.
