President John Dramani Mahama on Monday called on African leaders to de-politicize corruption and address its inter-related issues with impartial lenses.

He chided political figures who use corruption to score political points to desist from such behaviour because to him, such approach does not give room for unbiased discussions on national issues.

President Mahama made this call during the fourth Commonwealth Regional Conference for Heads of Anti-corruption Agencies in Accra.

He also described corruption as a tool that erodes the viability and violates the laws of the State.

President Mahama reportedly also called on the management of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) to bare out the facts of any discovery they make on the rot in the scheme to the media.

Addressing the President remarks on U TV’s “Adekye Nsroma”, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ade Coker commended him (President Mahama) for his zero-tolerance for corruption in the nation.

According to him, the President's call is appropriate and hoped it would make a difference in the SADA case.

He charged the SADA Board to comply with President Mahama's directives and take the necessary "actions within the shortest possible time to uncover the truth" in the wide-held corruptible practices under the Agency.

Speaking to host Tweneboah Koduah, the NDC Regional Chairman explained that the directive is in the best interest of the Board who he admonished, should work hard to find lasting solutions to the rot.

Concluding his submissions on the U TV’s morning show, Hon. Ade Coker emphasized that the President's remarks about eradicating corruption prove "he's a President who does not condone corruption."
