Philip Longdon, a member of the Kyeremanten Campaign Team has described a publication attributing a statement he made in his personal capacity to Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, as “gangster journalism”.

According to him, Citifmonline has not been fair to him by twisting his words as though they were the thoughts of his boss, Mr. Kyeremanteng, who is contesting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential race.

“…I spoke for myself because there is only one official spokesperson for Alan Kyeremanteng and he is Nana Ohene Ntow. Why, then, do you say those were the words of Alan? This is gangster journalism!” he fumed on Okay Fm’s, Ade Akye Abia.

Ahead of the October 18 National Delegates Congress to elect a flagbearer for the party, some known supporters of Alan Kyerematen have recently declared their support for the 2012 flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, over what they term his proven track record.

However, Mr. Longdon has been reported to have alleged that the defections were “not genuine” but propaganda charade, influence by money.

But Mr. Longdon has not taken kindly to what he believes is a distortion of the statement by connecting it to Alan Kyeremanteng.
"…this is nothing but gangster journalism" he said.
