One of the candidates contesting for the deputy National Organizer position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Jibrill has attributed the brouhaha and court injunctions which have characterized the ongoing branch elections as mere lack of information about the party constitution and how the system works.

Mr. Jibrill who is popularly known in the party as Pink Sheet Man said people who are contesting for position at the local level do not understand certain principles and guidelines, and this is the kind of education that needs to go down to the local level to help strengthen the party support base.

Speaking in an interview with DAILY HERITAGE, he said currently there is no party in Ghana that knows its data base for its supporters and because of that they turn to accuse the electoral commission and other election observers of manipulation during election.

"Even party local organizers don't know their data base not to talk of national, then we call ourselves organizers what are we organizing. I will bring different dimensions to structure the system to the extent that, the party will know its support base before election," he said.

He said years of working experience at the election directorate has exposed some kind of loopholes of the party's organizational structure to the extent that not even national executives have the data of both partial and active members.

According to him, the two national deputy organizers of the party are not known or popular not even among active party supporters.

"People always ask me who are you contesting, this goes to show that they are not really working hard enough to be recognized by the party, that is why I am bringing new energy to partner the organizer to deliver 2016 to NDC," he opined.

Commenting on how the name Pink Sheet Man came about, he added that, he was the sole liaison between the lawyers of the party and the election directorate during the famous election petition case.

Mr. Jibrill said if voted into power there will be free flow of information right from the national level to the grassroots in educating the people about some of the achievements of the party and the government.

"I believe the NDC may be going through series of challenges today but with the right commitment at the executive level and the right people, the party with the support from the youth which I represent and the woman wing we will deliver power," he stated.

He, therefore, appealed to all Ghanaians, especially, NDC supporters to take the opportunity to participate in the upcoming voter exhibition exercise slated for October 24-30, 2014.
