Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Saturday handed an overwhelming victory to the party’s two-time presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Three candidates: Nana Akufo Addo, Alan K. Kyerematen and Francis Addai-Nimoh contested for the flagbearership position of the party; but at the end of the day, Nana Addo emerged tops with 94.35% of the total votes cast.

Alan Kyerematen and Hon. Addai-Nimoh managed only 4.71% and 0.91% respectively.

Analyzing his total percentage of the votes after the election which took place in 275 constituencies and one special polling station at the party’s headquarters, Addai Nimoh said the delegates in a way are telling him it is not yet his time.

Francis Addai-Nimoh told Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview on PEACE FM premium morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ that after the election, he analysed the results he had in two ways: Quantitatively and Qualitatively.

According to him, even though he didn’t make impact in terms of figures (quantitative), he made a qualitative impact.

“Maybe Addai-Nimoh made a qualitative impact but it didn’t translate into a quantitative impact for me. However that is not going to discourage me. Party delegates have spoken… I was hoping to win but it is God who choose leaders through the people… per the delegates’ choice, they are asking me to hold on and wait for my time… maybe it is not yet my time; my time will come. Right now we are gearing on to 2016 and I am preoccupied with making sure we win the 2016 elections”.
