NDC Summons Tweaa DCE - Over Latest Tantrums

THE RETURNEE District Chief Executive Officer for Ahafo Ano South, Hon. Gabriel Barimah has been invited by the regional hierarchy of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) over his recent outburst, as captured on tape and published by The Chronicle on Monday.

The Chronicle is reliably informed that the controversial DCE, whose public outburst early this year notoriously earned him the accolade “TWEAA DCE”, has been invited to explain the content of the latest tape which appears to make mockery of President Mahama, as a small fish within the NDC, who rode on the back of luck to occupy the seat.

On the current tape which has gone viral on social media and the airwaves, the returnee DCE, who was recently given a lifeline by the President, having been sacked some months ago, is heard boasting about his influence within the ruling party, comparing himself to the likes of General Secretary, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and the Majority Leader, Hon. Kingsford Alban Sumani Bagbin.

Amidst laughter and cheers, Hon. Barimah, in a meeting with some leaders of the party at his residence, said he had strong relations with all the gurus within the ruling party and that he has been around for a very long time, dating back to early days of the party’s establishment.

The DCE stated that it was during his second term in Parliament that the current President, Mr. Mahama, even got his appointment as a deputy minister of communication.

“Some people forget that some of us have been in Parliament before, yes, it will surprise you to know that it was during my second term in Parliament that President Mahama got his appointment as the Deputy Communication Minister, Asiedu Nketiah was my colleague, Alban Bagbin too was my colleague,” the DCE boasted on the tape.

But the embattled DCE would have to answer for opening his mouth too loud, as the paper gathered that he has formally been invited to come and explain content of the tape.

The acting Regional Secretary of the party, Mr. Raymond Tandoh, has confirmed to The Chronicle that the issue had come to the attention of the regional hierarchy and that he (Hon. Barimah) has been called to come and explain.

Mr. Tandoh, however, said the party was currently vetting aspirants for the regional positions and would tackle the matter later.

“I have spoken to him personally and asked him to explain the issues and he has told me to give him sometime, for now we can only treat it as a newspaper publication until we have heard from him,” Mr. Tandoh stated.
