Assin Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has called on his party executives to sack the partys polling agents who are not honest in protecting the ballot box during elections.

According to him, inasmuch as he does not trust the Electoral Commission and the machines for the elections, he said some of the polling agents of the NPP are not ready to sacrifice for the party to win power.

He insisted that what happened in the 2012 election petition at the Supreme Court has shown him not to trust the Electoral commission; advising that everybody must be vigilant and get involved with every activities of the EC from now to 2016 elections.

Speaking on Oman FMs National Agenda, the outspoken NPP MP said he was shocked as NDC members who helped him during his fathers funeral didnt ask for food or money in return; but to his surprise his party members were rather lamenting for food in return.

He again revealed that during the just ended Presidential Primaries, the polling station executives at Assin Akropong insisted on money before they vote to choose a Presidential candidate for the party; convincing him that NPP Polling agents can easily be bought under any circumstance.

Another thing we cant blame on Afari Gyan entirely is that a lot of NPP agents are not honest; we need to sack them...I was shocked when polling station executives at Assin Akropong said they wont vote unless they see the amount of money they are receiving. Can you imagine this guy monitoring elections for NPP?...NDC people came to my house to do clean-up exercise and they never took anything from me but NPP people after the work, they started complaining they are hungry; have you seen the difference? We will continue to lose elections because our people are easy to be bought. Lets face the fact that our people are part of our downfalls in elections...as we are complaining about the EC, we should also address our own people. If our people are not prepared to sacrifice, we should take them out, he emphasized.

He however called on Ghanaians who are determined to ensure their votes count to devote their time and show commitment to the course that will ensure free and fair elections; adding they shouldnt rely on EC during elections for free and fair results.

He was of the view that all party representatives should be allowed to be at the regional offices of EC since the worst of the rigging start from the regional level to the National.
